About Me

My name is Eric Longenecker. The 08/09 school year is my fourth year of teaching here at Elco. I enjoy working here. One of the many reasons is that I graduated from the school district in 2001. I went on and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Millersville University in 2005.

When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with friends. I also love to play the guitar and can often be found rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. If you would like to say hi or have a question, click here to send me an e-mail.

On the first day of school, my students were given homework. Part of this homework had them write three questions that they would like to ask their teacher. Below are several of the questions and their answers.

What is your favorite sport?
My favorite sport is basketball. I played for Elco's basketball team when I was in high school. I now help coach that same team.

What is your favorite food?
This is a tough one. I love French fries, chocolate chip cookies, and Auntie Anne's soft pretzels. All the healthy stuff!

What is your favorite school subject?
When I was a student, my favorite subject was Writing.

What is your favorite color?
Green! If you haven't noticed, this website has a lot of green in it.
What is your favorite book?
I cannot pick one, but I can narrow it down to a few. The entire Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis and George Orwell's Animal Farm. Both of which can be found in our classroom library. If you'd like to read either, please let me know and I'll gladly help you find it.
How old are you?
This is a question I get a lot. I am 25 years old, but apparently look younger. On more than one occasion, a parent has thought I was a high schooler.

Do you have any pets?
Yes, I have two dogs. Jackson is a Yellow Labrador and Ebony is half Black Labrador half Rottweiler. Neither of them will ever be able to visit our classroom because they have a tendency to misbehave.
